Wedding Planner guidelines

12 months before

• Set the wedding date
• Prepare a budget
• Begin interviewing ceremony sites, reception sites and caterers
• Book sites, caterer, photographer, limousine
• Choose your wedding party
• Start your guest list

6 to 8 months before

• Book your honeymoon
• Obtain a passport if necessary
• Taste test and order the wedding cake
• Send "Save the date" cards
• Shop for and make favors (unless it is a food item)

4 to 6 months before

• Shop for and order wedding rings
• Shop for going away outfit
• Organize your wedding day accessories (shoes, garter, jewelry, etc.)

2 months before

• Mail invitations
• finalize the ceremony and write or select vows
• Plan the rehearsal dinner
• Purchase gifts for your bridal party, parents and each other
• Book a hairstylist
• Get a marriage license
